4 Lessons We Learned In Our First Year As New Owners



On March 3rd, 2021, we celebrated our 1 Year Grand Re-Opening anniversary. And what a year it's been!

The odds were seemingly stacked against us but with the support of our incredible customers, community and staff, we’re standing here today – stronger than when we started and looking ahead to a brighter and more eventful future!


Ingram's Mens Shop was originally founded in 1930, and taken over by family, Paul and Kelly Ring in early 2020.

Here are a few lessons that we learned in our first year of business that are too good not to share:

1. Celebrate The Wins.


At every milestone (even the seemingly insignificant ones), we celebrated. Because we acknowledged and celebrated every “win”, we felt more energized to surpass our customer's expectations on a daily basis. Being grateful as we celebrated allowed us to appreciate all we had especially during the uncertain and unprecedented times that 2020 brought with it.


2. Surround Yourself With Other Entrepreneurs.

We are thankful to have the support and resources from others who have gone down the entrepreneurial road before. Very quickly after launching the Grand Re-Opening of Ingram's Mens Shop, we surrounded ourselves with other like-minded people (entrepreneurs as well as customers) that were truly invested in our business's success. This made all the difference in the world!

3. Say “Yes” Then Figure It Out Later.

From the beginning we have always also sought to do the best we can for our customers. You never know what saying "yes" will lead to – a bigger deal, a lesson learned, a new business partnership.

Creating a willingness to say “yes”, can be scary. Yes, you may be in uncharted waters. But if you never say “yes”, then you’ll never know what could have been.

4. Work With Those Who Want To See You Succeed.

We have the best customers! We say it all the time. One thing that we didn’t expect starting our own business is that our customers would be as invested in our business as we were in theirs. Every meeting, every zoom call, every night out on the town, people in the community would ask (and want to know) how business was going. Many even refer business to us because they know the value we bring and they wanted both their colleagues and us to succeed. To our amazing customers, thank you for your unending support and love! It means the world to us and our team!
